It worked great and have no complaints after a few batches of popcorn. Finally... I can have great kettle corn at home! I was pleased with the results and would highly recommend this popper and the mushroom popcorn.   Reviewed by:  Randy Rains from Richmond, VA. on 9/14/2012 Just great!   Pros: Thick plate on bottom to spread heat out evenly. Wood handle not plastice. Gears on handle rod and lid are metal, no stripping plastic gears. VERY easy cleanup. Cons: Can only turn handle one way or is starts to unscrew itself. No way to keep lid up to empty when you are done popping, have to remove entire lid. Overall this was EXACTLY what I whave been looking for. I looked at a few others at places like BBB and they all had plastic or aluminum gears and the pots were flimsy. This thing is BUILT RIGHT. Heavy gauge stainless sttel. My first batch of popcorn was with Mushroom popcorn and the Carmel Glazing that was sent with it and it came out perfectly. Next batch was hulless popcorn made kettle style and it also came out perfectly. I am planning on buying 4-5 of these to give away as Christmas presents and wedding gifts.   Reviewed by:  MAnvoots from Indianapolis. on 8/16/2011 Much better than I expected!   I was always skeptical of these things... thought they were a gimmick or a cheap alternative to a better maker. At this point I would have to say that this is second only to a movie theatre maker and probably just due to the fact that it won't make 50 cups of popcorn in one batch! Really this does seem to be the best way to make popcorn at home for under a few hundred bucks. I have a cuisinart maker from William-Sonoma and it was pretty good. The plastic broke on the W-S and it can't possibly "hot start" popcorn like the webpages recommends. THIS whirly pop maker absolutely can do this method! Awesome!
